Oh the nights spent in the harbor listening to David Paquette on the piano in the Pioneer Inn, Bonnie Rait sitting in occasionally, Sharing bottle Buds with Capt. Kenny Neizman outside while listening to his foghorn impression and ship to shore radio spiel, smoking some Hana hashbud (who me? ummm...) and feeling the cool trades while smelling Pioneer Mill's sugar cane fields burning and sending that beautiful pungent odor through the town!!!
Oh the 70's in Lahaina.

Nice shot of the re-constructed Inn. Well framed and I like the perspective.
I have mixed feelings about the original which I saw about 30 years ago on my first trip to the islands. Yes, it had lots of character but, it also was ready to lie down from the termite damage etc. Unfrtunately the reconstruction also brought in the tourist stuff.
In any event, very nice tour ...
Aloha

This place lost all it's character when it re-modeled back in 96 or so. They ran all the "colorful" locals out, made it into a kind of "fern bar", but it's still a Maui landmark.
