A spot of sun shine over Hana contrasts with the amazing darkness of the
Nimbostratus. I called Radio Honolulu and reported first one, than two miles offshore.
The end of it was well visible in front of me. This was a very local shower cloud,
which ended half way between Hana and Kahului. As soon I cleared it, it was just
about time to call Kahului Tower and get clearance into the Kahului class C airspace.
I have not expected this relatively low and flat cloud to become so dark!.
