Stairway to Heaven? Would you like to climb 3922 steps, good exercise for a sunny afternoon? I would, but... the stairs are still closed to the public. Once vandalized by somebody, in year 2003 the Haiku Stairs have been completely repaired by the city of Kaneohe for whopping $875,000. But the access to them could not be negotiated. Unbelievable! And so the stairs are still closed... |
