Valley of the Temples, Kane'ohe, 18.Sep.2003
The valley is actually a complex of cemeteries with several chapels and temples. Largest and best known of them if the Buddhist Byodo-In Temple, a replica of a 960 year old temple in Uji, Japan. This is a very serene place, resembling a visit to Japan. However, visitors to Japan (foremost Kyoto or Nara) will notice that the craftsmanship of this replica is not a match to the original! |
