Sorry for the delay as guess I have not checked this site for a few days. The answer is YES as I live on site for 6 months as park wildlife photographer and campground host during the winter months.

George, Can you tell me if you have been out to Moss Park recently? Was thinking of a trip out there ourselves.

Hi Pat...Has not been exactly typical FL weather the past couple weeks either as extended cold spell and first snow flurries since 1977. Currently working on a wildlife video of the wildlife here at the park and will do the same when I get back to NNY in the spring plus more waterfalls.

Hi George - Too bad you are in Florida and not up here in snowy, cold Canton and Russell. I'm sure you would find lots of wonderful scenes to photograph.
Gave Bernard the Waterfalls DVD for Christmas. Everyone who has seen to date are in awe of your work. Looking forward to your next project.

GEORGE. I hope you are back in Florida now. We have had a beautiful fall, no snow yet but should soon be coming.
I have sold some prints and hope to sell a few more for Christmas.
Again, thank you for letting the Russell Museum put them out for sale.

Hi Elizabeth,
Thanks for the comments on my photography and most likely would be interested in displaying my work at your facility. I will respond further to your private e-mail.

Hi Dick,
I hope to leave for FL by Wed or Thur of this week, but I can drop off the print at the hospital. I will also send you an e-mail as well.

Hi George.........The same day I emailed you about the hospital photos I asked you how I could purchase an 11 X 14 of the bluebird with the twig in his mouth. I have had others ask me about this. Can I just go to the hospital and take one off the wall and pay someone there. Please advise as I want to look at some as Christmas presents. I would be happy to send a check for the bluebird if I knew where to send it. Please advise.

George, Thanks for coming to the Russell Museum and showing your video of the Grasse River waterfalls. The comments I have heard most are "I didn't know the river had that many waterfalls".
We will look forward to getting your prints up on the walls and hope we can sell some.

Greetings; Your photos at the Canton Potsdam Hospital are outstanding. Just a quick glance at first spurs the viewer to othe hallways and other photos. The patience and artistry displayed are amazing. I look forward to having some of your prints displayed in my home.
George Grant 14-Oct-2009 10:38
Hi Pat,

Thanks for the comments. I have shortened the video by 19 min by eliminating some of the more repetitious footage, added a few more brief clips of wildlife and reincorporated the sounds of the waterfalls. Next step is to complete the DVD for those who want one.

Thanks for sharing your photos and slideshow with all of us who wish we were this talented. Looking foward to the DVD so all your aunts, uncles and cousins can enjoy your travels in beautiful St. Lawrence County.
You asked for suggestions - keep the sound of the waterfalls as background, add some narration. Otherwise, just keep doing what you do so well.

Hi Doug,
Again I have been very negligent in checking this site and responding but I hope this changes. As far as the Cameras I use they are the Olympus E-3 and 510. The lens I use for wildlife is the Olpmpus SWD 50-200 which is equal to 100-400 equiv. Most of the time for wildlife I am also including the 2X Tel Converter as well which would make it 800mm.

doug 03-Jul-2009 02:11
love the photos; they're beautiful. what kind of lens do you use to get up close to these critters? i ran across a juvie tri-colored heron today and, while awesome to witness with just my eye, I was lamenting the lack of a powerful telephoto lens. i'm looking to purchase a Canon EOS 50D with a Sigma 150-500mm zoom telephoto (can't afford the "L" glass, though), and want to make sure i end up with the right one.

Hello George I copied your email adress and phone # a while ago while reading the Orange Spiel magazine, publish for Orange County employees here in Orlando, Florida. There was a ad for photograpg classes in a senior center. Its a new Year and i am trying to make some small changes in my life, and i just now visited your bed site, my God it is so very exciting and BEAUTIFUL you have taken God creation and photographed them and shared the beauty of them. I have a passion for butterflies, and i am interesting in your class if you still teaches it. In community has no fences, at the property line there is a bob wire fence that belongs to the cow farm {all bulls} if you are ever interesting in taking some pictures let me know. i absolutely love your work. celeste A

Hi Kyle,
Sorry for the delay as have not been on this site in over a month. With regards to Carol's Woods it consisted of a couple acre swamp that I took many photos there a couple years ago, but the last time I checked it out it was not worth any more effort due to development.

I have been at Moss Park all winter but leaving for NY Wednesday for the summer, but will be returning again this fall. If you are still in the area, and interested, look me up and I would gladly show you some sites. I do hope to get my site updated with many new photos this summer as well.

Hi George, I absolutely love your photographs! I live in Orlando, going to school at UCF, and will be visiting Moss Park very soon! After seeing your photos I decided I must go! Nature photography is my favorite pastime. I was wondering if you could tell me where you took your "Cypress Woods" album. In the description, you mention Carol's Woods and I'd like to visit there, it seems as if Painted Buntings like that area. I've never seen one of them before. Anyway, thanks again for posting such awesome photos!

George,
Your photos are exquisite! My daughter was thrilled with the chickadee photo that we gave her for her 40th birthday. Since that time, I visited the Colonial House in Canton and saw the wonderful photo of the two owls together. You have a good eye for the beauty of natural settings. Seems it must require patience, too! Great work! Sincerely, Charlie and Judy

Hello, Mr. Grant.

I am the Wildlife Biologist with the Georgia Wildlife Federation and I was wondering if our non-profit organization could use one of your fox squirrel pictures for our educational, member-supported quarterly CALL newsletter.

Thank you so much,

Please contact me. I am wondering if I can use your photo of a fox squirrel (image 28152311)on an interpretive sign for a nature trail.

Dear Mr. Grant,
You have some wonderful images. I believe the image above is mis-identified. It looks like a Palm, not a Yellow rumped. The lack of wingbars, strong eyeline and yellow undertail coverts help with the ID.
Keep up the good work.

Hi John,

Sorry for not responding quicker, but I left on the 5th for Europe, just returned late last night so hadn't checked my e-mail or sites.

Yes if it is not to late you are more than welcome to use my prints for the stated use, but hope that you would give me credit for any photos and thanks for the compliment on my photos. Yes Moss Park is a lovely place with a great staff.

Hi Kathy,
Nice to hear from you and thanks for the kind compliments on my photos. Yes high speed access is well worth it. I truly enjoy doing nature photography here in FL as there is so much of it, but do miss certain photo opportunities from up north. I am now starting to sell some of my prints which is distracting from my photography at the present tim though.

Thanks Ken,
I to like the Painted Bunting and until I found this resident pair I had seen them only twice before since moving to Florida. Yes I normally spend several hours a week or even a day, sometimes sitting in the same location to get these pictures.
