This is a wonderful national preserve where you really get a feel for old Florida. You will see may different birds, wildlife and many alligators. But you must remember there is nothing between you and the wildlife so don't go blindly into the bush there could be an alligator right at your feet. On your way to Big Cypress stop off at Clyde Butchers Gallery. He is a master black and white photographer that has made his life work photographing the wilderness of old Florida. His studio was my inspiration for trying my hand at black and white. Thesse are all digital photos not film. Using photoshop CS4, I tried many different combinations of black and white options combined with duplicate layers and some of the old favorite tool such as clone, dodge and burn. After I did a few I decided that I would never remember what I did to the photos so I started to put abbreviated notes in the photo name. Good luck trying to figure out what they mean. I went back to Big Cypress and have added more black and white photos, but I aslo added a few color photos because I just could not resist doing so.
