The airport where I go soaring is located in Zephyrhills, Florida. On the airport property is a large flock of Sandhill Cranes. There are a few there all year round but in the winter the flock increases to about 50 birds. I took my long lens to try to get a few shots. The only problem is that as you slowly walk toward them, they walk away from you just a little faster than you are walking. If you speed up too much they take to the air.
