Diving for the Cross

Tarpon Springs is the home of a Greek Orthodox Cathedral and it is host to one of the largest ceremonies to celebrate Epiphany. In addition to the ceremony in the Cathedral there is a procession through the downtown, ending at Spring Bayou. This is where young men ages 16 through 18 dive for the cross. This year there were 52 young men diving, in hopes of retrieving the cross and being blessed for the rest of the life.
