Karen and Scott approach the boulder field in Peters canyon. The canyon walls merged closer together here creating a choke point.

I can't be absolutely certain, but I think Leona is thinking "you've got to be kidding." Karen and Sridhar are just above Leona and Scott is further on and to the left.

Scott and Sridhar scale a boulder looking for a path. Unfortunately there was no way further up-canyon from there (without the potential for a broken bone) and they had to back down and find another way.

A view into Peters canyon from the canyon wall. I was taking up the rear, slowing things down taking pictures as usual, and didn't see that the rest went up the left side of the canyon. I went up the right and then crossed over to the left. My path turned out to be the easier one.

Sridhar is dwarfed by a boulder. Yes, that is a boulder behind him. This is about as far as we got in Peters canyon. It is now about 9:30 AM and the sun is warm and all the little bees are waking up and starting to buzz us.

We are still in Peters canyon but have started to head back. Sridhar leads, Karen just navigated a boulder drop and Leona is preparing to slide off one boulder and onto another.
