The village of Olympos is located in the northern part of the island of Karpathos. It is an isolated village with access from the sea or through a 25km dirt road. It is the last "traditional" village in Greece where the women are still dressed with the traditional dresses. These photos where taken during the celebration of Good Friday, a very special day for the Orthodox Christians, where the "Epitafios" (epitaph), an imitation of the Christ's funeral bier, is decorated with flowers by the women of the village. Many world famous photographers can be found there during the Easter week and especially Magnum photographers. Constantine Manos and Nikos Economopoulos are amongst them with great photos taken there.
