I miss Gamboa to this day, May 17, 2012. I lived there from 1951 to 1962 and I still think about it frequently. The jungle, the mountains, the Chagres River, the beaches, and of course, the Canal. Nothing can replace that even though I have a good life in the USA. It hurts to see the demise of a piece of paradise as we zonians knew them. Time passes, things change, and memories suffer, but the love of my Gamboa, Canal Zone can only last.....forever. James C. Lavender, Atlanta, Georgia, 2012
