the Duffy Lake road, a few hours north of Vancouver...is a great route to take, through the Coast Mountains, into the western extremities of the BC interior region...in the 19th century this was gold rush country...in 2008 it is a lesser used route...although well-known locally...particularly by campers, cyclists, and motorbikers...the scenery is dramatic and the road strenuous...but very enjoyable...
