bucket list

not so sure about the idea of a bucket list....novelty/extraordinary experiences, often simply conforming to widespread ideas about what is cool to do and where is 'de rigueur' to visit, seems a bit simplistic, not far removed from a shopping list (for those who need them)... the special moments in life can resonate strongly, yet it is the day to day moments that really define and reward one's personal journey....once in a while a treat seems appealing, yet barely begins to delineate a full and enjoyable existence...anyway, once barnacles appear on your bucket, it is too late to check off all the possibilities...just as well too...what is do-able is rewarding, and the rest can wait, perhaps forever

I always find the idea of a bucket list as depressing. Once the list is finished......then what. The barnacles are well detailed. V

I agree with your sentiments. The bucket list meme is a symptom - along with selfies, "likes" and "friends" - of our culture of narcissism.

I wonder where it started life, the sea always gives back what it does not want, nice sharp image David.

Like Joyce's wife, [B]arnacles never leave. V

Interesting shot and poignant commentary David. To me a bucket list is just a cliche. The warrior lives in the present.

A meaningful graphic and bold but true statement, David. Let's not let those barnacles accumulate ! V

Thought provoking words for the day !! You can always clean the barnacles off and start afresh - we are very fortunate to have options :)

Barnacles thought highly of this bucket.

Well said David!

What profound thoughts David! One wonders how the bucket's life has been to accumulate such battle scars...

A pity the beach has to be littered with this sort of thing..
