shocker

the most recent visit to the park proved a shocker...after three months of hot dry weather the pond has almost completely evaporated...a few puddles are there in places, but in large the bottom has been exposed...ducks and herons can fly to alternate locations, but various aquatic creatures, like insects, fish, and frogs, would seem in imminent danger

This image has far more impact now that I have viewed the one following it. I am glad it is back to normal. Global warming doesn't exist - hah! ~V~

That is very scary. Hopefully the droughts are something that will reverse.

I think we've had your share of rain

Certainly looking in need of rain!
I will send some over...

A very nice composition of this dried out pond with the (duck?) tracks looking for water... V

Seems to be widespread, same conditions here in Europe. Nature is taking it's revenge. V

it is sad to see this lake almost dry, hope it rains soon so aquatic life is not too affected.

That is indeed shocking, and an excellent capture documenting this sad situation.

I can certainly understand your shock! Here, Delta Ponds, which I love to visit, are also getting very low and looking like that in places. We haven't been good caretakers of earth.

Oh my - not good !!! Love what looks like duck tracks - looking for water :( A great shot for the record ! V

It is a shocker when you see crack ground where water stood an the embankments 3 feet above the lake bed.

Not looking good for some of the inhabitants there. Interesting photo though to see it in this state with the tracks.

Despite that, its a wonderful shot, but it is reminiscent of the desert….. and that would explain why I heard so many crickets there the other night. V

Nature can certainly be cruel!
