They just keep on coming, we're up to the third baby of 2007 at Turkey Creek already! And there are still four more yet to be born, as I understand. This certainly will be the most productive year for Turkey Creek Stables ever. Nowhere else will you find such loving care of these newborns, every one gets the best, fussed over and pampered like the little sweethearts they are. Expect more soon, and I'll keep the photos (and video clips soon as well) coming as they arrive.




It's one of the most rewarding times to spend up close with these tiny, inquisitive creatures who have absolutely no fear of anything, and boundless energy to do almost anything you let them, the sky's the limit for them it seems.

Let me introduce you now to Flicka, born sometime in mid-February to Sally. I haven't confirmed the exact birthing date, but as of this writing she's probably 1 - 1.5 weeks old I believe. She is light colored with beautiful chocolate brown markings (or dark chocolate with light markings, it's like a zebra's stripes, whichever way you see them!) and such a sweet disposition she'll capture your heart before you know it. Her foal's coat is the softest thing you can imagine, and she enjoys being scratched, until she gets hungry again. Then you can't get her attention away from mama to drink, and it seems she doesn't need much rest, at least while I was there. They are magnetized toward this new creature they are fascinated with, trying to get their nose as close as possible for the best detail of their smile! Such fun, it never grows old.
