About Gil Azouri

Dr. Gil Azouri, born in Tel Aviv, is a doctor by education, who was captivated by his great love - photography - and has exchanged his white coat for a camera.

His passion for photography began in 1995, during an extended trip in Southeast Asia, but only in recent years has photography become his main preoccupation and way of life.

His striking and colorful photographs have been published internationally in a wide variety of media including, books, magazines, advertising and the internet. Besides representing his own stock photography, part of his travel and landscape collections are represented by Getty Images.

His main focus on travel photography is no coincidence. "Travel photography creates a story which links location, people, nature, religion and culture," he says. "The attempt to create a story makes travel photography, in my opinion, one of the most challenging areas of photography."

His photographs have won international awards and high praise from professional circles. In 2009, he received 2nd prize in the "Life in society" category and 3rd prize in the "Landscapes" category, in The Epoch Times International Grand Photography Competition. In 2006 he received a High Commendation in Digital Camera Magazine’s “Photographer of the Year” competition.

His China photos are currently on display in a permanent solo exhibition at the “Great Wall” Showroom Gallery, 65 Jabotinsky Street in Petah Tikva. He has also taken part in the following group exhibitions: The 2009 Epoch Times exhibition in New York, Imagination 2012 and Imagination 2013 Israeli Art Exhibitions in Tel Aviv.
