Aberdulais Basin, Neath and Tennant Canals

A quick visit to the Aberdulais Basin, the junction of the Neath Canal and Tennant Canal. The Neath Canal was completed in 1800 taking coal and limestone from the upper reaches of the Neath Valley at Pontneddfechan to the sea at Neath. Neath (Nidvm) had been a seaport since Roman Times. The Tennant Canal linked to the Neath Canal in 1821 which allowed the transport of goods to the docks at Swansea. This images were taken looking at the Canal for possible angles and will be re-taken when the light is better.
