Belle Mont is one of Alabama's most distinguished homes. Built circa 1828, it is an example of Jeffersonian Palladian architecture of the Federal period. Housed within the historic mansion are portraits and period furnishings from the area. Belle Mont is on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned by the Alabama Historical Commission.
