Southwest landscapes

I made my fifth trip to the Southwest US in October 2005. This gallery is a collection of photos taken throughout northern Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, including Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Parks, Canyon de Chelly National Monument, and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Hopefully, these photos captured some small part of the natural beauty of this area.

hi there. visiting once again. looking for inspiration for an oil painting i'm working on. i just love your work! i mostly shoot black and white, but i do so wish that i had shot more color when i lived out west. thank you for sharing!

Great Photo's-Hope to get there in the next couple of years. From Massachusetts. People don't realize the beauty there is right here in this country. the Canyon is one of them.

Antelope canyon has been photographed so much and by so many people, that it has become a cliché. I’m sick of seeing photographs from there.

This gallery backs up my desires to travel out west and start shooting. Here in the midwest I can always get cold images but never images with the same warmth and tone as these. Great inspiration.

Thanks for the comments. I also shoot Reala at ISO 80. I find it scans better, with less grain, and holds the shadow details well.

Your Grand Canyon Sunrise is proably my favourite Grand Canyon image that I've seen for quite a while. Interesting to see you are using Reala - I have been shooting it for a couple of years for pretty much everything (exposing 100ASA as 80 for extra punch). It's been great - very fine grain and natural colours. Only recently switched to Kodak Supra. Anyhow, love the photos.

Beautiful work. I have an UZI, too, and look forward to visiting this area. The color is a little higher than normal, no? But it looks great -- no criticism.
