White-lipped snake, Drysdalia coronoides

Cradle Valley, Tasmania

This small species of snake is slightly venemous and feeds largely on skinks. Like all species of snake occuring in Tasmania it is
live bearing. While venemous, it is unlikely to be dangerous to a human being - unless you have an allergy, in which case it could
kill you. But you would be the first recorded human death, so you could die with pride.

Not only excellent photography but very interesting information. I used to keep a hognosed snake that was a rear-fanged mildly venemous variety, but it would have to chew awhile to get its venom into the skin. It naturally fed on frogs and toads but was taught to eat baby mice. Voted.
