Whistling Kite and Black Kites

Mornington Sanctuary, WA.

Bad news for lizards- circling kites spell trouble for many small animals on the ground. Both Whistling Kites and Black kites are
attracted to fires and swoop swiftly through the smoke, snatching small morsels which are flushed out of cover by the flames.
For such victims it is a case of "out of the fire and into the frying pan".
