Tasmanian Froglet, Crinia tasmaniensis

Cradle Valley, Tasmania, Australia

Being a frog is almost certainly the result of drawing the short straw with the reincarnation commission, but being born a small
frog means that you have just begun the long road to enlightenment, or you have done something pretty reprehensible. These
small (but rather cute) frogs call by day or night from the small puddles and freshwater tarns of Tasmania, and sound somewhat
like a small, pathetic goat.
