Holy Cross Frog, Notaden bennetti

N of Blackall, Qld, Australia

When this frog sits round, it really sits round! A burrowing species with a very sticky skin secretion that spends most of its
unfortunate life underground. The small mouth of this frog seems to indicate a diet of ants or termites.

Recent research involving scientists and beer cans seems to indicate the sticky stuff that this frog is armed with is an amazing
non-toxic glue with possible medical applications. I hope this means that this species won't come to a sticky end!
