Striped Marsh frog, Limnodynastes peronii

Woodford NSW Australia

The Striped marsh frog is a frog that seems to be able to tolerate levels of pollution that would kill many other things stone dead.
It is common amongst old instrustrial sites and is one species of frog which is still relatively common in the suburbs of Eastern
Australia. The call is a sharp "Toc" rather similar to that produced by clicking hte tongue. This specimen from the Blue Mountains
is a male, He has strong forearms used to hold the female during "amplexus", and a relatively larger head than the female specimens.
