"George" is a long-term resident near the Jetty at Lake St. Clair. Fully stretched out (which he rarely is) he would measure about
145 cm at an estimation. At the time of this photograph George was nearly completely blind. This is because he is in the process
of shedding his skin, and the milky fluid separating the outer layer from the new skin underneath also covers his eyes, which
are behind a spectacle scale. George is generally fairly placid, but his timidity makes him a difficult subject. I am not sure if
he would have stayed there and let me photograph him if his eyesight wasn't compromised.
