Photo a Day Project

This gallery exists to motivate me toward thinking creatively every day, toward living my life through my camera lens and seizing opportunities to express myself on a daily basis. Gabe, I liked the family photos. My favorite is wood-cutting one. It has a frozen in the moment quality that makes it unusual. Really liked the B&W photo of R. I was struck by a similar quality in your and her looks that is lost in the femine/masculine details off camera. Also, like the lone leaf on the ice. M.

I've been intimatly watching this creation process occur (see pic 113003 and 120903) and I'm so glad it's occuring. What's beautiful about doing a picture a day is that is the quiet story of a life. So much, people run through life like automatrons, it's rare that you get the chance to pull out something from evey day to look back on. Notice that Gabe rarely takes head on shots? Often the camera angles are unique, at first off-setting then meaningful? It seems to me the way he looks at the world, through a few fingers, gazing outside but with a knowledge of where he's looking from.

Thanks, Ron. Yeah, my camera and I get along pretty well, but I'm launching myself on this exercise to get my motivation and creative energy in gear. I just moved to NYC -- one would think that I would be snapping away at all the sites around here, but I'm finding myself inhibited. I'm trying to fix that. Thanks for checking my galleries, I enjoyed your images very much. ~g

Your intial shots are very nice. I like the soft focus and color balance of them. I've found this type of project very productive and educational as far as learning how to use my camera. I hope you have much success with it as well.
