Winter Sunset

Laguna Beach

The Christmas season is wonderful time to visit Laguna Beach. The evening air is crisp, shops and restaruants glow with festive lights, the crowds are fewer and the photographic possibilities, countless. We also enjoy this season because the sun sets early, allowing us ample time to enjoy a cup of eggnog and a warm fire. Winter sunsets can offer some of the most dramatic lighting, as evidenced by this image. Often, I deliberately exclude buildings from my landscape photos. In this instance, however, the brightly lit gazebo actually completes the image and adds a seasonal element

Gorgeous shot.I see it was in 2000....so maybe the film days are gone by as digital takes over.

I grew up in Laguna Beach and I have to say this is one of the best pictures I have ever seen from there. The composition, the long exposure, the color saturation. It is nice to see someone still using film. Velvia is incredible film for colors.

I showed this to my mom today and it took her breath away.
Very nice.
