Here I present you some pictures taken on a geological excursion to Madagscar in June of 2008.

:: Chapter 1: Madagascar's Central Highlands ::

The central highlands of Madagascar offer a variety of hills, volcanoes, lakes and rivers.

:: Chapter 2: Madagascar's Tropical East ::

Decending from the highlands to the East Coast of Madagascar, there is a narrow strip of land that is covered (though very sparsely after woodcuts) by tropical forests.

The Deep South of Madagascar looks very much like textbook Africa, with Savannah-like plains and old-and-weathered hills.

:: Chapter 4: Madagascar's Lemurs ::

Here's a picture report of one hour in the life of a Lemur family. These guys live in a small nature resort ran by local people, and they are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I could have spent days just observing their complex behaviour, and I hope to have catched some of it in this set of pictures.
