Time out........

Luang Prabang, Laos

Luang Prabang has many 'novice' monks - some as young as 10 years old. I met several of these youngsters and all they wanted was a childhood.

I'm glad you took their picture. (It's beautiful.) And I'm glad you talked to them too.

To Paul
The remarks were based on first hand inputs from the numerous novice monks that I had met and spoken to. This is not imposing "...values and beliefs..." upon another culture, nor my "...ideas of childhood....". They were very keen to talk to visitors, and shared their private thoughts....... they just wanted to get out. I send English books to them even today because the asked for it. You weren't there.... so how would you know.

beautiful pictures, but please don't editorialize. don't impose your values and beliefs on a culture that is not your own. its normal for boys to spend time in a monastary; sorry if that doesn't mesh with your ideas of childhood.

Yes, much better details on the walls. Congrats on the natural pose of the 2 monks.
