The Steinwandklamm ( "Rocky wall gorge") lies close to the Myrafalls. Normaly a creek runs through the narrow gorge, but this year's summer has been too hot and dry. Nevertheless it was still very cool inside - perfect on a hot day.
There are two possibilities to master the gorge:
- hiking all the way through till the path hits a road ( easy)
- follow the path only halfway and climb up the steep cliffs with the help of ladders, traversing some small caves ( a little adventureous).
We selected the second choice.
In the afternoon we visted the Myra Falls which had a lot less water than at our last visit in May.
I stumbled across your beautiful photographs while using Google to search for Steinwandklamm. Your photos of Steinwandklamm remind me of the sunny and warm June day ten years ago when I was fortunate to go hiking and climbing there. I was working for The Coca-Cola Company in their offices on Triester Strasse in Wien and living in Guntramsdorf from early May to late July in 1997.
