Nebulosity in Corona Australis

Hakos/Namibia

Superimposed on the many background stars of our Milky Way is the dark nebula Be 157. Bright blue giants illuminate parts of of it, generating reflection nebula NGC 6727. This nebula itself contains three mayor bright parts: NGC 6726 in the center, NGC 6729 ( a variable cometary nebula) to the lower left and IC 4821 to the lower right. In the upper right corner globular cluster NGC 6723 can be seen.
