The "Christmas" comet of 2004 became fairly bright around the end of the year and was an easy naked eye target under dark skies. The long, wispy blue ion-tail points away fom the sun, while the (very) short dust tail marks the trail of the comet. The fuzzy patch below the ion-tail is NGC1333.
