Turning East

I love this stretch of river. The bluffs are full of trees with touches of the yellow loess soil deposited thousands of years ago. The river turns sharply east here and runs along the bluffs. There were 2 eagles flying overhead and a blue heron flying along with me. The water was about 2 feet deep on this day with a good current. The river was so clear I could see the sandy bottom in miniature dunes as I glided along with the current, making about 3 mph.
