Town of Caledon

The Town of Caledon was established in 1974 following the amalgamation of the townships of Caledon, Albion and part of Chinguacousy along with several villages and hamlets. It is part of the Region of Peel and is located to the north-west of Toronto, Ontario. Caledon covers an area of approximately 160 square kilometers and although it has a few pockets of urban development, much of the town is rural in nature. Caledon is dominated by two geographical features: the Niagara Escarpment and the Oak Ridges Moraine which, along with the Credit River and Humber River contribute to its natural beauty. It's a popular recreational destination with several golf courses and plenty of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding.
