I live in Mill Valley, CA. I live up a canyon where I am the last house surrounded by Redwoods,Oak,Manzanita, and Eucaliptus Trees. I watch the birds a lot. I have two Red Tailed Hawks, Two Turkey Hawks, that live around me. I just sighted a predatory bird yesterday that I have never seen before. I am trying to figure out what it was and am hoping to see it again circling above. It had pointed wings, no striping, it was brown-beige like a great dane color. It looked like it had black around the eyes, and a pointy beak. It looked larger than a Red Tailed Hawk but maybe not as large as a Turkey Hawk. I have not seen the likes of it here before. It was not a Sonoma Hawk. It looked stealthy. I glided into the top of the eukaliptus trees where a flock of Turtle Doves were resting.
