Example of an URL ICON.
To add an icon to your URL:
- You need an icon. There are plenty of icons on your PC to pick from. Use windows search and
look for *.ico or create one. I suggest creating one with several different sizes: 16x16, 32x32,
48x48. See the link below for freeware icon editors.
- Upload the icon to your directory on line the same location of the index.html, or gallery if
you prefer to create one per gallery.
- Rename the icon on line to favicon.ico
- Add both lines below to the head of your index.html page
<LINK REL="icon" HREF="favicon.ico" TYPE="image/ico">
<LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="favicon.ico">
If you have a lot of free time, you can create a different icon for each of your personal gallery.
Just change the name of the icon in each gallery and then link to the new name. Have fun!
Freeware icon editors can be downloaded from the following site. There a lot of different
freeware editors: http://www.webattack.com/freeware/gmm/fwicontools.shtml
The site is also a good location to download other free graphic applications or just about anything
you can think of. Good to bookmark for future reference. The magic word is no cost
