Message from S. R. Gamache
I am an amateur photographer who lives in Idaho Falls, Idaho which is located in the Snake River Valley at the edge of a desert and the base of a mountain chain. Yellowstone National Park is just a hop, skip and a jump away from here. Being an outdoors person, most of my photographs will be scenery and wildlife. However, I am also experimenting with various series that will teach me the skills necessary to improve my images. I also have many photos of my pets since they are always available and willing subjects.

I really need to point out that there are photos here not taken by me. My youngest daughter Katie and Ukrainian daughter Zee both have Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S650 cameras that they take with them everywhere. Their "sig" will appear in the lower right hand corner so they receive the appropriatee credit for the photos that they take. Zee is a far more passionate photographer while Katie is willing to accompany me on my many outings, being my walking partner.

I've progressed slowly through the photography equipment of my life. My first camera was an Olympus OM-G with an assortment of lenses. My first digital was a Casio QV3000-EX that served me well for many years. Since my father was very familiar with the Leica film camera line, I looked into the Panasonic Lumix line for my workgroup since the Leica digital line is the Panasonic Lumix line. Wanting the control that the SLR hybrids offered, we bought the Panasonic DMC-FZ30. Because of how pleased I was at this camera, I purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 as my primary camera.

I want to thank my family, especially my wife Debbie, for putting up with my photography studies and working our Panasonic camera into our budget. I maintain a separate blog for those interested; go tohttp://www.xanga.com/gamachesr to view this Christian based blog. All of the photos posted here have been included in my blog at one point or another. If for some reason you would like to contact us, drop a note to gamachesr@reconcilingpeace.org

Blessings,
Steve
