Requiem Robaire

Sitting here his morning after the service yesterday for our Mate Robaire I wondered what to say on Rusticana.
First thoughts were to let time settle and then to press on and see what life brought.
Then after some reflection I decided to put these few words here on InMates which might somehow go on to dilute the sense of loss.
Comment flowed in thru the week like the rain. A rare flash of light on the Mountain and much thoughtful condolence. Robaire was a man much loved not only for his magic photography but for his absolute humanity. He indeed stood tall.
Friday dawned grey and slick with rain. At Macquarie Park the wind got up and drove the cold sleet thru the trees in sheets.
A few infrequent bursts of sunlight might have lead one to believe someone was watching.
We had made an AV combining images we had and some culled from the sixty thousand sitting in Robs Big MAC. These images ran slowly thru the screens on the portico as we waited in the cold to enter The Palm Chapel.
The High Anglican Service was very moving. The Padre and others spoke simply of Robaire and his life with us.
Afterwards many of his Primrose Park Photography and Rusticannian Mates joined the Family at the wake. I talked for a while over these pages as we celebrated the life of The Man.
