The boys at Collitts Inn.jpg
Hartley Valley, NSW, Australia
This pic has some historical interest for Robaire, who is bottom left and whose father was probably the photographer.
Collitts Inn was/is located at the foot of a convict built road descending from Mt York which was regarded by explorers Blaxland Wentworth and Lawson as marking the end of "Crossing" of the Blue Mountains.
The road has huge trees growing in it now but quite walkable. Logs were attached to carriages descending to provide more drag and assist brakes. Pretty hairy, one might say.
We have discussed the film at length but can only say that a sample roll may have been given by a newspaper friend. It was war time and we have no idea on processing etc..
These (film) thoughts are no more than WAGs, the reader must decide what that means.
