The palace on the left behind the statue of Master Jan Hus, a 14th century preacher of the Czech Reformation, is Goltz-Kinskı Palace. It was built in late baroque style in 1755-1765. It houses a collection of graphic art of the National Gallery. Adjacent to the Palace is the square´s oldest building, the House at the Stone Bell, a monumental medieval tower-like building. The spires belong to the Church of Our Lady Before Tın. Its present form was started in the 14th century, but it stands on the site of a Romanesque church mentioned in written records in 1135. In front of the church there are two houses there: the Tın School, originally a Gothic building, and the House At the White Unicorn, originally a Romanasque house. The right side of the square consists of houses dating back to the 14th century. Some of them were originally Romanesque houses, with remains preserved in their basements. The tall tower on the right of the pano is the Old Town Hall, the centre of the administration of the town. It originated on the basis of a privilege granted by king Jan of Luxemburg in 1338. The tower was raised in 1348. Enjoy.
