Galleria Lunaria

We the In Mates very carefully timed the launch of Galleria Solstitium on the arrival in the Southern Hemisphere of the Winter Solstice….. and the record will show that some superb images are appearing from assorted Mates as they become aware of the Galleria’s scope. We are also now aware that there is considerable talent around using the moon in it’s various phases. Thus, thought we, there must be a Galleria Lunaria so our visitors can see what our Other Mates make of these lunar challenges. Here we will see extreme zoom pics and doubtless the use of tripods and other assorted steadying kit. We hope you enjoy the images, as the Gallery grows……
Prophecy as it turned out. Almost a year later Other Mate Trev was out in the garden in Bundaburg to photograph The Smiley in The Sky. This is some image, it is at the current end of the Gallerium so do take a look as you wont see it again until around 2036.

Editors Note.
You may think that the moon is a bit of a silvery sky thing that comes and goes and you would be right. It is however the coming and going that is a worry. For one thing it makes the tides, and a sleep on the beach at Broome can get quite wet in a ten metre tide. For another it filled mediaeval Bedlam with raving lunatics. Our wild dog the Dingo howls at the moon. And quel horreur the lycanthropists danced to it in the Aubrey Circle at Stonehenge.
Its also got a bit of a wobble, in fact the Metonic cycle was lost observationally for a couple of thousand years, and Velikovsky suggested it didn’t belong here at all.. Funny thing the moon…Argghhhh, forgot , theres Moonstruck…

( I mean, you ask a classicist to comment/alter/delete/check commas etc. and you get all this swanning around amongst the Ancients…I’m surprised he came as close to the present time as Stonehenge. But he is right about the tides in Broome. They are huge.)

Dont forget to look at Galleria Ecliptica. A galleria within the Galleria, drill down and read the Grazing Notes. We added Vincentius' sequence shot to Ecliptica 14 September, it is never too late for a beautiful Moon.
