It is with great pleasure that we present our newest "Other Mate" recruit, Barrisimus. Just a few short years ago Barry approached Robaire at a Photographic Happening and stated with some authority that they had shared a small kindergarten and lived quite close in their respective parents homes. Recognition was simple for Barrisimus as Robaire was wearing a name tag. It was calculated that as much as seven decades may have passed before this chance re-aquaintance. Since then Barrisimus has displayed all sorts of his photographic and other talents. Formally grounded in Engineering, Barrisimus spent several years in Canada and the UK in senior Allis Chalmers positions. He remains an engineer with a well equipped workshop. A recent diversion was a simple stand on which his camera is horizontally mounted and in macro mode, he reproduces both negatives and slides in several megabytes, indeed an impressively simple piece of kit.
A wide spread family involves our Mate and Colleen in seriously long trips like to South America where a married son lives and teaches and to the South Coast where they see one of their two daughters and family. We are confident that our newest Other Mate will provide viewers with a smorgasbord of his photographic talents and as time passes you will see related work in Gallerias Macro and Noir Blanc where images relating to his father in WW1 will appear.Talking of Barrisimus' father, he once had an 800 pipe organ built in two rooms of his house, but no images remain...........??. "Could this be true?", you ask. It is and it could mean that photography came second after such a huge project. (whisper......"glad we didn't live next door" says Robaire)
