Kyunggi Do is the name of the province that surrounds Seoul, the capital city that has special status, somewhat like that of Washington DC. Just as is the case with many nearby provinces and counties, there are surburbs, but as one travels further out, the landscape becomes decidedly rural. In south Korea there is the added element of a military presence. These images, like all those in this gallery, were taken with film cameras in the late 80's - early 90's.
