Run by the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, this prestigious competition attracted hundreds of entries from all around the world.
Hosted by the National Maritime Museum and Flickr, it was judged by a panel of 10 scientists, journalists and photographers.
Just to be mentioned in this competition as having produced a noteworthy image is an honour!
