Hi Gail, You responded to my thread "How challenging is the change over to DSLR". I had a look at your blog on Digicamhelp and can see that it will be of help to me while learning to use my 450D which I buy on Monday. Gallery photos gives me insight as to what zoom I should get. The quality of the 55-250 shots is goodthough one can see the difference in IQ tween it and the 400L. Ithink I'm going to go with the 55-250 as a starter. I can reevaluate say after 6 mths.
It would be kinder on my pocket too. Here in South Afrca the 100-400L is 5x the price of the 55-250 I'm going to the Kgalagadi Park in 3weeks so I can practice. The reach is not ideal 88-400 but much better than my Fuji of 28-300.
Someone said on the thread I would struggle with the 18-200 or 70-300 while still learning to use the camera.
What postprocessing or touchups did you do on the 55-250 pics and if so what program did you use. I only know Corel PaintShop Pro but I hope to get AdobePhotoshop CS2.
Thanks Gail you have been of help and I'm enjoying your gallery.
