This gallery exhibits the work of the artist ELI SAVIR.  The paintings are Aquarelles on paper.



   ELI SAVIR died on Saturday, August 27, 2005, at the age of 65, after over a year of struggling with pancreas cancer.
   He started to sketch and draw when he was in his twenties, mostly with charcoal and oil paints.
   That period lasted some 10 years. 30 years later, at the year 2000 he resumed painting at the time
   he was first diagnosed and treated for cancer. Now he was interested in aquarelles, and as an
   autodidact he painted dozens of marvelous, colorful paintings, some of them are very emotional and painful.
   The first three galleries were uploaded during the 7 weeks before his death and about 2 weeks
   before he stopped painting because of his illness. All that time he was very encouraged and
   inspired by the good comments, both in this site and in the site created by his eldest son Amiad.
   But most of all he enjoyed reading the outstanding critiques on his work in the
   WetCanvas watercolors professional forum.
