This beautiful house finch is in full breeding plumage now. Won't be long before they are nesting.

House finches, males

Jeewanthi photographed these two house finches in the BYG. Like the chickadees and cardinals, these guys are singing away, and have been, actually, for some time.

Northern cardinal, male

These birds are singing now, and the mild weather is really causing a flurry of singing activity in the resident songbirds including chickadees.

Downy woodpecker, male

Jeewanthi was at the FWG this morning and found this lovely male downy woodpecker, obligingly showing his lovely red colour. Jeewanthi also has the distinction of being the first to take photos for our March blog.
