Indian Pipe (Monotropaceae)

Technically, these are not Fungi, but colorless flowers/herbs that lack chlorophyll. However, they are often found living amongst mushroom patches.

I am glad I found this site. I have wanted to identify this plant for almost a year now, and you helped me do so. I found it growing is south georgia in a wet wooded area.

Indian pipe are parasitic on green plants or saprophytic on dead green plants (as are many fungi), not "symbiotic with fungi".
