Looking on the bright side, lots of rain meant lots of fresh water for our cooking and water bottles. Another fellow asked me if I'd brought any iodine tablets to disinfect things - I didn't, but bringing them for any questionable water would have been a good idea. Guide said this area is usually dry. Later, as you walk across the Saddle (about 4200m?) you can how dry things are.
