The Photo I Had to Delete [A True Story]

That's right!! Upon entering Fort Bragg, North Carolina to see an Air Show
[ http://www.pbase.com/fromtheheart/aviation07 ] open to the public and
photography I had to have my car "processed" (a.k.a. inspected for weapons
and explosives). They insisted that I open EVERY compartment -- the door, t
runk, hood, glove box, etc. so they could "process" my car for entry to the base.

I thought this would make a great photo. The gate guard thought otherwise.
After taking a few photos, I was almost arrested AND I was asked to show all photos
that I took of my car. Since one photo showed a TINY corner of their
Guard House, I was asked to delete it with the promise that I never again
point a camera in his direction. He had a gun so I promised.

Well, in honor of the civilian Gate Guard who gets no respect (and never gets
to use his gun), I post this deleted photo of the doorstep to his guard house.
Look closely and you can even see my car with all the doors open. . .

I think I found the rudity you warned us about. Nice color and composition, nonetheless.

this is indeed a dark time in your life, Mike. Thanks for sharing it.

Bummer of a story, but this is the best deleted photo I've ever seen. Did you adjust levels before posting it so the blacks would be really black?

The most ironic aspect, Mike? You likely could have stood there very meekly, chatted on a cell phone and transmitted images of the whole thing around the world and nobody would have questioned it.
And if you try to address the problem through "proper channels" you will be be chided as unpatriotic and a trouble maker.
It's gota piss ya.
